1. “One of the few ancient hotel in Singapore, orginally built as the German Club and situated opposite the prestigeous Tanglin Club and American Club on Scotts Road just north of the centre of the lively Orchard Road. The Goodwood Park is low-rise and set in leafy surroundings with large rooms and public areas. The decor is contemporary and everything works. The rooms are quiet and easy to use with good natural light in the bathrooms, an unusual plus. Oddly, it always seemed easier to get taxis outside the hotel than many of the others that I have stayed in.”
2. “I needed to contact Agoda Customer Services to be reassured that the Hotel had indeed been booked. Even now, I have no idea about why the Hotel had no record of our booking, and it is almost as if by buying online and receiving slightly reduced rates, the Hotel cared less about us. Also, for those who do not like walking, it is a 5 minute walk to the MRT stop at Orchard, which is OK on the way out as it is mostly downhill, but on the way back, tiring.”

3. “This is the ‘other’ nostalgia hotel in Singapore, the one when you can’t afford Raffles or the Fullerton, and the one with the very best location just behind Orchard Road and a very short walk to the Orchard MRT. Well mannered and dignified but not in the least snooty, something the other two nostalgia hotels do suffer from. The Goodwood Park is the more accessible for this.”
