Registering to vote in the State of Florida
Some people may not realize that you need to register first before you are able to vote in the State of Florida. To sign up to vote in Florida, you will have to follow these procedures:
Number one, establish if you are eligible to vote in Florida. You:
Must be a US citizen, Must be a resident of the State of Florida, Must be at least 18 years old(pre-registration to vote is allowed if you are 16 years old), Must NOT be judged mentally incapacitated, Must NOT have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored, Must produce a valid existing Florida drivers license or ID card, or Must provide the last four digits of your SSN if you do not have a Florida drivers license or ID card. Instead of these items you are required to check the space indicated on the registration form as NONE.
For those who are eligible, you will then want to complete a Florida voters registration application. Complete the Voter Registration Application. Fill out all fields. Print out the application. Make sure all information on your application is provided. Where you register, your SSN, Drivers license number and ID card number stay confidential and are used only for registration purposes. Sign the application. Your original signature is needed because you are swearing and/or affirming to an oath. Mail your application on to your trusty county Supervisor of Elections. You can opt to mail or deliver by hand your application to any Supervisor of Elections office in the state, the DMV, a registration company, an armed forces department, or the Division of Elections office.
Many people often ask whether they need to find a florida notary public to notarize the application. As of the date of this article, notarizing isn’t a necessity. If this is a new registration application in Florida, the date the complete application is postmarked or hand brought to a drivers license office, a voter registration agency, an armed forces recruitment office, the Division of Elections, or the office of any supervisor of elections in the state shall be your registration date. You should be registered for at least twenty nine days till you can vote in an election. If your application is complete and you become certified as a voter, a voter information card shall be mailed to you. Make sure to meticulously check the application. If the info you provide is not accurate, you can be convicted of a felony of the third degree and fined as much as$ 5, 000 and/or imprisoned for as much as five-years.
How To Fight Speeding Tickets Tips
Nothing can interrupt your driving excitement like a traffic ticket. Since I love to drive…fast that is, the general problem with it is called speeding tickets. I hate speeding tickets! That’s why I pay much attention to how to fight speeding tickets.
I got a speeding ticket once off the Oregon Coast for going 65 in a 30mph zone. Unfair I tell you. I am not the only person who has gotten one of those “infractions” for speed limit signs that are unfairly posted; such was the case on a road trip with my friend a while back. Obviously this did not matter to the cop who pulled me over. I cannot even begin to tell you how annoyed I get too when they ask why they pulled you over. I think they get enjoyment out of asking that stupid little phrase. Apparently they have to ask you this to get you to confess to your “crime.” It is not a crime! If you weren’t meant to speed then why do they make cars that go faster than the average speed limit? I tell you it is a government conspiracy! You know what else I hate about speeding tickets? Contesting them; not only does it take time out of your day it is usually at the most inconvenient time like during work hours. How much sense does it make? It is like a double whammy because your $100.00 ticket has now turned into a $200.00 ticket because you missed a day of work. We gotta stick it to the man and fight speeding tickets!
Of course if you are a girl you have a better change at getting a warning then a full on ticket, well that is if you are lucky enough to get pulled over by a man cop. True story, I was driving down some road in Arizona and I got pulled over for passing on a double yellow, in front on coming traffic, which just happened to be a light green cop car, going 90 in a 35, with a Washington driver’s license, a car registered in California, and insurance in Arizona!
Now I would like to say that I got off with a warning because I was all jazzed up that day, but I would have to say for all those offenses which were pretty obvious, that I got off because he could not prove that I was speeding. I mean, he did not have radar so he could not have been able to pace me and there were no air cops either so he really did not have anything for his defense.
After reading this book I found on contesting speeding tickets, in hind sight I can say it was defiantly the lack of evidence that got me off the hook, not my smile. I have not gotten that lucky all the time but now I know I have a reliable defense when it comes to getting my tickets reduced or thrown out.
I am not likely to get that lucky again and my driving record is not exactly good, so I have to pay fortune to keep my car insured and I cannot stand driving school. When a light turns yellow, what does it mean? Good gosh it is like being in elementary school again. Besides I know the traffic laws I just have a problem when it comes to obeying them.
Come on! How do you get a speeding ticket going 10mph? I know grandma’s that can walk faster than that. Obviously not speeding is a sure fire way to avoid speeding tickets but if you are anything like me you just cannot for the life of you stand being behind some old guy in a Cutlass breathing oxygen out of his back seat.
Anyways, there are ways to beat traffic tickets. You just need to know where to find them and what your best line of defense is when it comes to contesting the infamous speeding ticket.
