Electric Airsoft Weapons
The second type of airsoft guns that are available are called electric airsoft guns. One of the great things about electric airsoft guns are that they offer some of the great benefits such as firing and various upgrade capabilities. Electric airsoft guns do not require you to pull back the slide before shooting like th spring airsoft gun does. While the electric air gun is better than spring air guns in some respects, there are a few drawbacks to them. Electric airsoft guns are slightly more expensive than spring pistols, and require batteries to run the gun through various exercises.
Gas Airsoft Guns
The third type of airsoft gun that is available to consumers is the gas powered air gun. Gas powered airsoft guns tend to be the most popular kind of of gun for people really into the sport of airsoft. Gas airsoft pistols have the advantage over spring airsoft pistols here because they can actually recoil after firing, just like a real gun, called a blow back feature. Gas powered pistols are typically powered by Co2 cartridges, green gas, and other kinds of gas that are inserted into these air guns. Gas powered airsoft guns are the most popular kinds of guns for collectors and serious players, although they are often the most expensive kind of airsoft gun.
While many children and adults alike enjoy airsoft wars with friends, many other people consider airsoft guns to be a great collector’s item as well as a way to teach your children about gun safety. Since air pistols have been around for a number of years, there is quite a market for collectors looking for unique and possibly rare airsoft guns. My battle to beat my dad on the chess board
My father was always buying inexpensive chess sets for us to play with at parks. We always used inexpensive ones because we were worried we’d lose pieces from a more expensive chess set. We have been playing chess since we were old enough to sit up without chewing on the pieces. It was a major goal throughout my childhood to beat my dad at chess — I came close a few times, but never actually decisively beat him. We played recently and I did win — but I suspect it was primarily because my son was hanging over his shoulder, wanting to play with the horses. Hardly a “decisive” win in my book - but I’ll take it!
While playing chess is fun in itself, you can also derive a lot of enjoyment by becoming a collector of novelty chess sets and pieces. Instead of just the classic black and white shapes, why not consider Civil War figures, Star Wars figures, or even Bible figures? You can find chess sets for almost every historical or fictional series, from World War II to Harry Potter, wherever there’s a story with two clear or natural “us versus them” sides.
I am a collector of chess sets. I recently purchase a miniature set made of genuine oak wood. The best chess set that I have in my collection is made of glass. The glass chess pieces are clear and frosted alternatively for the player to distinguish between white and black squares seen on a normal chess board. I have ten chess sets in my collection till date. I am looking to indulge in my hobby the next time I travel abroad.
