Dealing with Anxiety at Night.
Anxiety at night seems the worst possible form of an anxiety attack. I would think that the extensive majority of anxiety suffers, would love to be skilled to treat night time anxiety. I don’t understand what it is, but having night time anxiety feels a lot worse than having anxiety during the day.
I used to suffer through night time anxiety really bad, it got to the stage where I started to be afraid of the night time. And of course the more thought that I gave to it the stronger my night time anxiety got. It started to be a viscous circle.
How i learnt to treat night time anxiety, was that i put into place some coping strageties.
The main thing I did was to have a dvd player in the bedroom, and played my favourite films to sidetrack me from my anxiety. As I really needed a decent nights sleep.
Really what I needed was a time out from my anxiety. Concentrating on a film that I liked sidetracked my mind, which gave me tiny breaks from my anxiety. However it was more than that, if a distraction could stop my anxiety it just proved to me that my thoughts where manifesting my anxiety.
This in actuality started to support me treat my night time anxiety. A slight break from my anxiety was really appreciated, I can tell you.
I also bought some relaxation cd’s to listen too as I was trying to go to sleep. Being relaxed certainly does improve anxiety. While we are in a anxious state are bodies are so tensed and ready for the fight or flight syndrome, we in reality need to get our bodies to unwind and feel calm and peaceful. I cannot stress this enough, get your body to unwind.
I also tried exercises at night before I went to bed to get rid of all my extra energy. This will sound different but I was up for trying anything to treat night time anxiety. My night time course of therapy was exercise, immerse in the bath, then either a dvd or a relaxation tape to benefit me get off to sleep.
You may perhaps also try taking some natural herbs at night to support you rest and get off to sleep. Make sure you discuss with a professional who can guide you on what to take and how much to take.
If you do not mind taking medication to treat night time anxiety, then there are sleeping tablets or sedatives that you can take that will help you alleviate your night time anxiety. Again ask your general practitioner about what tablets are available and not dangerous to take.
But remember taking pills for anxiety does not treat your anxiety, but it does give you a breather from it. The best way to treat anxiety is to find a counsellor or personal coach who can aid you to work through the issues that are causing your anxiety. This is the only way to treat night time anxiety and s it.

Baby Swaddling Safety Tips
What does it mean to swaddle a baby? Wrapping a baby in a blanket with their arms positioned at the sides is swaddling. The method of using swaddling blankets is practiced in many countries and cultures because it is known for better sleep methods of babies. North American Indian mothers have used this method for carrying their babies for many years. Swaddling a newborn can recreate the warm feeling that newborns have in the womb. The swaddling method is useful in soothing sleeping babies and ease excessive crying. The overall sleep patterns can also be improved with this method.
Swaddling a baby is not as easy as it may seem. When you are handed your newborn baby from the hospital nursery it will already be perfectly in their swaddle blanket. The nurses in the hospital have had plenty of practice with swaddling. The key to learning the swaddle method is practice. The large, thin, 100% cotton blankets that they use are also helpful. (Though you can get your own cute themed blanket, such as a pink camo swaddle blanket.) The proper method to swaddle a baby should be: You should lay the blanket out flat in the shape of a diamond. Then the blanket should be folded down three or four inches of the top edge. Place the baby on the blanket so that his head is overlapping the top edge that you turned down. You will then tuck the baby’s right arm into the flap that was made by the folded down edge and the right corner of the blanket. You then take that corner and pull it across his body and tuck it behind the opposite side of his back. Bring the bottom corner of it up and tuck it inside the blanket near his chest. Tuck the left arm inside the flap made by the folded down edge and the left corner of the blanket. Pull that corner across the body and tuck it behind the blanket on his back. Some parents will say that using baby swaddle blankets has helped their babies get to sleep and stay asleep. They also claim that the baby will be comforted more quickly especially when they are newborns. A baby that is properly swaddled will feel warm and secure.This can also prevent a baby from throwing his arms up and startling himself. It can also prevent him from scratching his face.
Most parents use the swaddle blanket only when their babies are newborns. Many babies do not need that warm or security after about two months of age. Most babies will start to roll over between two to five months anyway. This would be a good time to stop swaddling and getting them used to falling asleep on their own.
